Our Story

From High School Friends to Lifelong Partners

Chelsea & Wyatt’s story began in 2010 at Yokota Air Force Base in Japan, where they first crossed paths in high school. They started as friends in 2011, during their junior year, when Wyatt invited Chelsea over to watch the movie Office Space at his house. What began as a casual hangout quickly turned into a daily routine of watching movies and shows together after school. On New Year’s Eve that same year, they spent the day together and shared their first kiss at midnight, marking the start of their romantic relationship.

As their bond grew stronger, they became inseparable, they even attended both Junior and Senior prom together. After graduation, life took them in different directions—Chelsea moved to New York, and Wyatt headed to California. Despite the distance, they stayed in touch through social media.

In 2018, their conversations picked up again, and it felt like no time had passed. They found themselves reconnecting over video chats and enjoying the same movies and shows as before. Realizing their chemistry hadn’t faded, they decided to make it official and began a long-distance relationship.

Later that year, Wyatt joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, VA, bringing him much closer to Chelsea in New York. In 2019, Chelsea moved to Wilmington, NC, narrowing the distance even further. After a few years, several deployments for Wyatt, and new jobs for Chelsea, they decided it was time to close the gap once and for all.

In August 2023, they took the final step and moved in together in Hanford, CA, finally putting distance behind them. Then, in July 2024, while vacationing on Long Island, NY, Wyatt surprised Chelsea with a proposal amidst a field of her favorite lavender flowers at Lavender by the Bay in Calverton, NY. Overcome with joy, Chelsea said yes to forever with her best friend.

Today, Chelsea & Wyatt still love the simple things that brought them together: watching movies, building Legos, cooking together and playing games. They also share an unshakeable bond with their cat, Taco Bella, who’s become a big part of their family.
